Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done
“The Lords Prayer is probably the most often uttered prayer on this planet, be it as words or as song. I was listening to the song multiple times during a late night solo drive from Chennai to Vellore and I was gripped with the beautiful words in this prayer. Your kingdom come, Your will be done is such an intense and deep prayer. We need to open the eyes of our hearts to discover Gods will and surrender to His will. Almost paradoxically, we experience true freedom when we surrender to His will – freedom from the slavery of fear and the amazing experience of being a child of God. We can give Him all the power and the glory and shout to the Lord. In closing today we pondered on the fact that when we surrender to His will, He will take care of us – an assurance that will help us make it through every trial, trouble and temptation!
It was lovely matching scripture to lyrics as I prepared for leading worship – the powerpoint has relevant Bible verses for each line of No Longer Slaves”

Brokenness to beauty (Ezekiel 37)
“We read about God taking Ezekiel, the prophet, to a valley full of dry bones and asks him- can these bones live? And Ezekiel says- Lord you alone know. And then God says in vs 11 , Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’
But as we read on God gives the promise of resurrection and restoration, He essentially says He’ll bring those very dry bones to life.
Let’s look at those broken pieces/dry bones in our lives. We may be asking- Will I be whole again? Can anything beautiful come out of this broken self? Will I ever conquer this fear?
But God gives us this promise – Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord , when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will LIVE. Ezekiel 37:13, 14
Life- in all its beauty.
And faithful is He who has promised, and He himself has overcome the grave.
Blessed Resurrection Day”.

Special Song: Surina
End of the beginning (David Phelps)
Worship: Surina
“Jesus exposed the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. So the Jews thought that if they killed Jesus it would end their problems. Satan was engineering the same thing; if only he could keep Jesus in the grave God’s plan of salvation may be sabotaged. But God had other plans. What the Jews and Satan believed was the end of their problem, was actually only the end of the beginning of the story of salvation that God had been scripting through Jesus life and this story continues to be written even today and will continue until the end of time.”

The Bible says, “Do not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, WITH THANKSGIVING, make your requests known to God” Philippians 4:6
This is what happened to me when I heard this song the night before the hardest exam of my course. I was sitting hopelessly and was so tensed because I couldn’t remember anything I had studied. Then I heard this song, Siyabonga. It was the most random song to pop up on my YouTube recommendations. I kept on playing it after hearing it for the first time. Then the worries in my mind vanished as I kept listening to the song and singing the chorus along with the YouTube video.
As I contemplated on what actually happened that night, I realised that this song was about thanking God. And giving thanks to Him really wiped away my anxiety as it is written.
Thanksgiving is very important in all of our lives because we magnify God over our worries and that’s when He gives us peace!

Goodness, Love and Mercy
