“Surrounded (by you)”. Psalm 3

Shadrach Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the raging fire. Although it appeared that the flames surrounded them, a closer look revealed God surrounding and protecting them. In our lives too,  we are often seemingly surrounded by evil, temptations, sickness, sin and failure. But Gods blood and His presence are also around us and this is how we will fight and win these battles. He prepares a table for us in in the presence of our enemies. He will fight the battle for us by surrounding us right where we are. Todays time of worship took us on a journey as we acknowledged that our God is powerful enough to hold the whole world like no-one else. He surrounds us with His melody and frees us from fears as He embraces us as His child.

When I first listened to Surrounded by Upper Room (Thanks to Blessing Calvin!), I waited on God to slowly work this into one of our worship sessions and He did!

Do go through the powerpoint of the worship session which has several portions of scripture to tie up the songs together.

Song List:

1. He’s got the whole world in His hands

2. Who is like the Lord

3. No longer slaves

4. Surrounded / Breathe

5. Oh God our help in ages past
