The God I know..

More than God being the almighty, powerful, miraculous, helper, savior, He is Good. Everything he does for us is out of his goodness and love.

David had a life of ups and downs. He was hated by his own people. Not only his enemies but His dear ones sought to kill him. He being the man after God’s own heart fell for something that no one would expect him to fall for. He lost his son though he prayed in fasting for a week. Inspite of everything, he chose to cling to God. Because he knew He is a good God. That kept him going. Hold on to his promises. 2Cor 1:20

Mat 5:16 says ‘Let your light shine’. The gospel we share with people should be reflecting something that we’ve experienced. Only when I personally realise and acknowledge that ‘Jesus loves me’ and that He’ll do good for me no matter what, I can go out and tell about it to others.

The God who has made the heavens and the earth is the best person to go to when need in help. He knows and controls and everything. He listens to you from heaven. Psalms 121:2

Cling to God no matter what because you are important to him. He is not going to leave you. Each of you is His master piece. He took out time and put in efforts in creating you. “He has engraved you in the palm of his hand” Isa 49:16. You are dear to him. His goodness and love for you will never change.

Our identity in Christ

“As believers, people of God, living in a wicked world, it’s important for us to never forget who we are and to whom we belong. We’re not mere human beings. We are a chosen generation. Chosen to declare the praises of our God (1 Pet 2:9). When we base our identities on our own skills, faithfulness, appearance, etc, there is no doubt that we will be disappointed. When we base our identity in Christ, we will find constant satisfaction.

In Christ, we are children of God. We must claim this title that has been freely given to us, and make use of the power of God which also is inherited to us. We choose to be who we are. When you claim to be weak, lonely, sick, or stupid, there’s nothing happening. But when you claim to be the child of God, there is power. Sickness will be healed, your weakness will become your strength and you will not be lonely.

We have done nothing to deserve this authority. And nothing can take this away from us. It’s only by His amazing grace that we can call him our Father. The more we draw near to God, the more he will draw near to us and we will experience Him as a Father.

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

In Christ Alone

“In our daily life, we come across problems and we immediately search for solutions but the problem with that is that we look for it and don’t pray for it. By look, I mean we trust ourselves, our friends, our relatives, our doctors… Only to get disappointed and finally go to God. If we went to Him first and if our faith could counsel, do the impossible, heal, or move mountains we would only want people and not need them. Lean not on your own understanding, lean only on Him, He’ll see you through. So if you’re going through a storm, don’t look for an anchor, go to God, He’ll give you one. Because He’s Lord, over everything, over every storm.”

Fierce

“Worshipping a God who never gives up on you is exciting. Gods love is unstoppable. ‘Fierce’ is a song that strongly portrays this. I heard it first live last year during worship at Woodstock City Church when we attended as a family with my brother and sister. I knew this song would make it to Peniel! Gods love is also tender, but powerful enough to melt our bitterness. Once swept by this love we can experience the awesomeness of rising up like an eagle and soaring with our God, our friend and our maker.”

Song List

1. Who is like the Lord

2. You never let go

3. Your love is Fierce

4. Oh Lord, your tenderness

5. Power of Your love

6. What a friend we have in Jesus

Worship Leader: Joshua

“There’s an interesting story in 2 Kings, the story of Elisha, where Elisha’s servant comes to him and there’s an army that’s coming down on Elisha and Elisha says “those who are with us are more than those who are with them”. Elisha prays – Lord would you open the eyes of my servant that he may see what’s actually happening around  and it says the servant’s eyes were opened and he looked around and saw the mountains filled with the armies of God , horses and chariots of fire all around him.

We are living in a time of fear, anxiety and violence and there’s so much coming at us from every way. We are surrounded by troubles. So let it be our prayer that the Lord would open our eyes that we may see what’s happening around us that those who are for us are more than those against us. Though we are surrounded by so many traps and troubles we have the God of angel armies standing by our side .He goes before us, he stands behind us and we are surrounded by his armies and Nothing formed against shall stand.”
