“Every worship session should draw us near to God, but is also a time of preparation for whatever God may have for us in the future. We remember Him from past and present experiences, and that drives us to trust Him for the future. He is the God ‘who changes not’. This week we look at the God who lead us through uncertainty, sorrow, grief, to the other side. Like someone once said, ‘we live life forwards, but will understand it only looking back’.”

ThemeOne thing remains (I Corinthians 13)

“Have you ever wondered why it is that Paul, at the conclusion of this chapter, proclaims that of the big three (faith, hope and love), Love is the greatest? That is what we explored through the songs at church today. When you love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength you will worship Him with all your heart, mind and strength. God proclaimed His love for us through the most selfless sacrifice – Jesus Christ on the cross. The theme song for the worship session today was ‘One Thing Remains’ which talks about Gods love that never fails, never gives up and never runs out on me. We finished with a hymn to respond to this great love – My Jesus I love Thee”

1. Gods love is like a circle

2. More love, more power

3. Above all

4. Abba Father

Worship: Maureen

Maureen says: “John: 4v 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

When things are happening the way we think they are not supposed to happen we tend to be so curious and forget why we came to the house of the Lord.

For example if the person next to you is singing in a different way than you think is correct- In that moment we lose focus on the purpose of worship. We want to learn and we should learn to close our ears and eyes when we come to the presence of the Lord for worship and let the ears and the eyes of our hearts worship in Spirit and truth because that is what our Lord wants.

We are humbled and blessed to have what the world desperately needs but do not have and that is knowing Christ, and let us remember that he is always enough and should be worshipped.

Special Song- lt is a song that describes God’s love for us and shows how much we cannot even out his love to definite measurements because it is so great. So everytime we see a circle, a mountain ,an ocean or anything for that matter ,just remember God loves you!”

Song list:

1. Because He lives

2. Christ is Enough

3. God’s love is like a circle

4. Majesty (Here I am )

5. Still- (Hide me now)

6. As the deer

Sharon’s thoughts on the worship session she led: “The reading was from Psalms 77. Your previous miracle gives you a breakthrough for your next miracle. This is especially very powerful at that time when you don’t seem to see things work. At this time you need to recall how God has come through for you before and tell people about it! This not only builds your faith, but also calms you down and helps you face what you are currently going through.

Everything and everyone we face in life are all part of this journey. But like Gladstone uncle pointed out, we are just soujourners. Our life was never about them. In fact the events in our life and or relationship with them should be influenced by our main relationship with God.

We need Him every single hour to be able to make it through this journey.

In Psalms 73 it says

Whom have I in heaven but You

There is none on earth I desire besides You.

My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!”

Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

It is so amazing that our God is faithful and unchanging. It can be seen in many places in the Bible and also in our own lives, the way God carries us through all situations when we obey Him. Even in the face of trials and temptations, He is a faithful God who gives grace and provides a way out of it. ( I Cor 10:13, II Cor 12:9 )

Even at times when we are carried away by the world and it’s pleasures, forgetting God’s call in our lives, He remains faithful. When we turn back and ask Him for forgiveness He forgives us and remembers our sins no more. ( 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 8:12)

And this faithfulness of God, that urges us to be faithful as He is, trusting and obeying Him.

II Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV)

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord for He is good. He has done so much in our lives. Some of the blessings we have seen and some we cannot see but still He is there for us every morning.  Let us give thanks to the Lord with a grateful heart. But also let us hope in the Lord for He gives us strength. Isaiah 40:31 talks about those who hope in the Lord, He will renew their strength and they will soar on wings like eagles. Our eyes should turn to the Lord for He gives us strength to face the day. He is Hosanna. And though we face difficulties in our lives let  us surrender all to Jesus and give Him our hearts. It should be our desire to honour Him for He deserves all the Glory. He does the greatest things and there’s no one else like Him. Let us give our hearts and soul to the Lord. Glory be to God”

Song List:

1. Thank you Lord

2. Praise is rising

3. All to Jesus I surrender

4. Lord I give you my heart

5. You deserve the Glory

“We sing carols so often at Christmas season, that we often forget that the songs are about worshiping Jesus. My prayer for every worshiper at Church today was this – All I want for Christmas is…… Jesus. Christmas becomes so much more exciting when we desire that. We realise that we are singing the same words that angels sang! The worship session today was to celebrate this gift of love and take us in to the very core of Christmas, till we’d realise that Christ is all we ever needed. Have a joyous Christmas”

Song List

1. Come on and celebrate

2. Gloria in Excelsis Deo

3. Take me in

4. Draw me near

5. O come let us adore Him

6. Joy to the world
